Banking Lokpal Complaint Rules

For filing a complaint at Banking Ombudsman against any Bank, you have to follow a set of guidelines created by Reserve Bank of India. The rules are:-

1. Don’t ask Banking Lokpal to investigate your case before 30 days from the day of filing your complaint.

2. Report to the concerned bank in written about your issue.

3. Submit all the details related to your complaint as proofs and details about bank account as all these are asked by Banking Ombudsman during the investigation.

4. You can also file an online complaint with proofs attested in txt or pdf format only.

  1. The Canara Bank marredpally has permitted debuting of Rs 5376 from my account without standing instructions from me to Apollo Munich Insurance in October 2p16. When i lodged complaint with Manager he pronised a reversal within 24 hours and told me later he was busy with deminetisation
    After 6 months the Marketing Manager told me that dice the insurance was not honoured in Chennsibwhere I reside the money would be returned but the deducted Rd 1800 as prorata fee. The outside agency was able to access my account without a cheque from me and the Chief Manager custodian of money in my account is helpless to control. I am holding account from 43 years so is my pension safe here?
    Kindly understand my predicament if he will allow such transactions again
    Please help me recover and safeguard my account.

    • Dear Sreelatha,

      Please note that immediately file a written complaint to canara bank and get the complaint ID. If you don’t get your money back even after the bank’s promise, get ready to sue the bank in Banking Loklpal.

  2. I have transferred amount Rs/-18000 from UBI UPI app. Transaction was failed and money debited from my account. Transaction Id: UOB4399A7xxxxxxxxC34A9C53A1FF6, Ref Id: 7165xxx6589. I want my money refund, what I have do, please help me.

      Please Note that in case of failed transaction, The Bank from which the money is deducted is responsible for refunds as according to BHIM T&C Clause No. 6.1, NPCI is not responsible for refunds. So kindly report the issue immediately to the bank and get the complaint number and save it for future reference. As even after your complaint Bank is not responding properly or Staff misbehaves, Kindly complaint this to the Banking Lokpal given on this website.
