The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) is an autonomous, statutory agency tasked with regulating and promoting the insurance and re-insurance industries in India. It was constituted by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act. The major functions of IRDAI are issuing, renewing, modifying, withdrawing, suspending or cancelling registrations, Specifying qualifications, the code of conduct and training for intermediaries and agents, Regulating company investment of funds and many more.

The fraud complaints that are related to the insurance companies will be registered under Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority category. The insurance company should resolve your complaint within a reasonable time. In case if it is not resolved within 15 days or if you are not satisfied with the resolution you can approach the Grievance Cell of the Consumer Affairs Department of IRDA.

IRDAI under RBI Sachet Portal in which you can register the online fraud complaint/ Grievances against of insurance Companies. Give your complaint in writing along with the necessary support documents. Take a written acknowledgement of your complaint with the date. The insurance company should resolve your complaint within a reasonable time.

You can also call on the toll free/ Customer care/ Helpline number is 155255/ 1800 4254 732 can also drop the mail with your written complaint at www.irda.gov.in. Investors can also call on this number and get your problem and query registered and the customer care executive will call you in 7 working ways with the best possible solution. The Timings are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
