Banking Ombudsman is the body appointed by Reserve Bank of India to redress customer’s complaints against the lack of bank’s services. Most of the time it is seen that many customers have been complaining about the failed transactions, the amount deducted, slow crediting of the amount and many more different types of issues if any of these situations occur you can approach the higher authorities of the concerned bank. But what if the result is not satisfactory or the bank doesn’t provide any result or the procedure is very slow, in these conditions we can write to banking ombudsman to look into our matter and resolve it.

Banking Ombudsman is known as Banking Lokpal in Hindi who looks into the customer’s problems without anyone’s interference. You can write or approach to Banking Lokpal if you are not satisfied with the bank’s response or you didn’t receive any response from the bank within a period of 30 days. BANKING OMBUDSMAN RULES AND REGULATIONS

Reserve Bank of India has created a set of rules and regulations that every customer has to keep in mind while filing a complaint, otherwise may even reject the application. Few basic rules and regulations to file a complaint are:-

1 . You can file an online complaint or a written complaint.

2. Your application can only be accepted by Banking Lokpal if you have first approached the concerned bank in written regarding the issue.

3. The complaint at Banking Lokpal can only be registered after minimum 30 days from the date of filing a complaint in the concerned bank.

4. You can only complain to banking Lokpal if you filed a complaint within a year from the date of receipt of complaint file in the concerned bank.

5. Don’t forget to attest all the necessary details related to bank account and issues, as all these information is asked by Banking Lokpal to investigate the case.

6. You can also upload your proofs online in pdf or txt file only.

  2. I am transferred ₹ 5000/- to bank of Baroda through BHIM account on 13-07-2017.But the amount didn’t credit to bank of Baroda account.But also the amount is debited from my account.I am also contacted my home branch.The problem didn’t solved till now.

    • Dear Sir,

      Please Note that in the case of failed transaction, The Bank from which the money is deducted is responsible for refunds.So kindly report the issue immediately to the bank and get the complaint number and save it for future reference. As even after your, complaint Bank is not responding properly or Staff misbehaves, Kindly complaint this to the Banking Lokpal given on this website.

    सर, में बोटाद जिले के गढ्डा शहर से हु, यहा की sbi adb ब्रांच में kcc लोन 15 अगस्त 2017 तक बंद की है। ऐसा इस ब्रांच के लोन अधिकारी श्री गिरीश कहते है, क्या यह बात सच है कि SBI ने KCC लोन 15 अगस्त 2017 तक बंद की है? या लोन अधिकारी श्री गिरीश अपनी मनमानी कर रहे है? यदि ऐसा है तो में उसके प्रति आपको शिकायत करता हु ।

    Applied for Shree Bajpayee Bankable Yojana through DIC, Surat for my wife.
    Worst people in SBI. They made my wife cry in the bank. Customer service executives are rude.

        Whole SBI is useless.
        When asking for complain assistance by my wife, that officer made my wife cry.
        Ideally he should assist in getting complaint register or online complain or about banking lokpal, even if the compliant is against himself or against some other person.
        Correct me if I’m wrong.

        I’ve sent an SMS of UNHAPPY on 8008202020 (SBI COMPLAINT NUMBER)
        The complaint was registered and customer executive or xyz contacted me, but even he was not ready to hear the issue. He was only interested in knowing account number, branch name. That’s all.

    My self Lalit Rajaram Dave , I have a OD account in Axis Bank account Name is AARYARAJA CORPORATION HATKESWER BRANCH OD ACCOUNT NO IS 9150 90x 483747 IFSC CODE IS UTIBx2645.
    Bank is offer me unsecured loan in oct 2014 amount was 4,40000/-(four lack forty thousand ). on the rate of 16.55% approx per nm & 2% service charge 8800+18% service tax or gst per year.
    Before few day back one lady call me & says that u have a MUDRA LONE OF 440000/-RS. i WAS REFUSED THAT I DON’T HAVE ANY MUNDRA LONE. My branch manager Sonal call me & say that pls visit to branch & sing the Mudra lone sarve document . I m refuse to sing the document because i did,t fill any form for Mundra Lone. She told me sing the serve document & give me letter to verify the same.
    If this this mundra lone then how can bank charge 15 to 16% per NM….if not then how they count my lone in Mundra lone account.

    Pls clarify the same & do the needful.
